DUDLEY Sports have been forced to alter their pre-season programme after proposed opponents Tividale pulled out.

Sports will now entertain Midland Football League frontrunners Sporting Khalsa on Thursday night at Hillcrest Avenue.

Boss Tony Gore claimed: "It's a bit disappointing when teams pull out so that they can play somebody else.

"I would have expected them to honour their commitment - especially as they approached us."

Gore has boosted his squad for the coming season by bringing in midfield man Liam Williams from Stourport Swifts and striker Dom Strevens who was previously with Fairfield Villa.

Left sided player Josh Woodhall has also returned to Sports after completing his university studies.

Gore has also brought in 16-year-old centre midfield player Lopez Mossumbo from Sports' own youth side and confirmed: "Lopez has done extremely well in pre-season and I think he has a very promising future ahead of him."

Sports were involved in a 3-3 draw with Bromyard Town at the weekend, Mark Gore grabbing a couple of goals with Josh Woodhall also on target.

Sports complete their pre-season programme on Saturday with a home contest against West Midlands League Division Two side Tipton Youths.

Gore added: "We had hoped for another friendly next Tuesday, but we couldn't get the opposition that we wanted, so we'll train instead."

Sports kick-off their campaign when they entertain Midland League One side Nuneaton Griff in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round on August 6.
