STOURBRIDGE captain Matt Bradley says his side is determined to kick-start their season at Wombourne this Saturday.

Stour are still looking for their first win of the campaign after last weekend's clash with Coventry and North Warwickshire fell victim to the wet weather at the War Memorial Ground.

They will now go to local rivals Wombourne (noon start) hoping to get their first success under their belts.

And Bradley is keen to stick to the change in batting line-up that saw him drop down the order.

He said: "We really want to get that win as soon as we can and kick on from there.

"We won at Wombourne last year so hopefully we can do the same this time around.

"I think the change in the line-up worked for us a little. The scorecard may not show it but I think coming in further down helped me to get involved."

The clash with Coventry was called off after late afternoon rain.

Stour were put into bat and were at one stage at 44 for 4 in the 16th over until Tarryck Gabriel and Bradley put on a partnership of 97 runs off 114 balls.

Bradley’s decision to bat lower down the order worked as the home side piled up 191 for 7 off 47 overs.

In replay, the visitors lost one wicket for 14 runs. Harry Horsley was out bowled for two by Umar Khalid. Despite Stour's spirit being lifted, the rains came to deprive them of the opportunity to bag some much-needed points.

"We got ourselves to a competitive total in the end," added Bradley. "Tarryck batted really well for us and I hung around with him as well.

"I fancied our chances of getting something from the game until the rain came.

"I actually think we had a good opportunity in both of the games that have been abandoned this season.

"We will take the positives and focus on going to Wombourne."

Stour are set to be without opener Richard Bradley this weekend and will look at their options from the seconds.
