CRADLEY fans will get their first chance to see their new-look team in action next week.

The Heathens are chasing a third successive National League title at their new Perry Barr base after making the switch from Wolverhampton during the winter.

And the team, with four new signings, will be put through their paces next Wednesday.

They will be on track from 2pm for the press and practice session which greets the start of every season, and members of the public are welcome to attend.

That same evening the team and management will be at Brierley Hill’s Copthorne Hotel to meet fans and sponsors from 8pm – and the 2015 race jacket will also be revealed.

Heathens boss Will Pottinger said: “Now it’s getting close we are all very excited about the new season.

“It’s a great time of the year and me and the boys are looking forward to the evening at the Copthorne.”

Michael Neale, one of the club’s new signings, is counting down the days to the new campaign.

He said: “I’m just really keen to get back on the bike now and I can’t wait for the season to start.

“I’ve been working hard to try and get everything ready and I’m feeling prepared, I’m just excited to start riding again and pull on a Heathens race jacket.

“When the season starts I just want to do myself and the supporters proud. It’s a big deal for me getting to ride for such a great club, and I’m just hoping I can hit the ground running and go on to have a good season.

“We look like we have a strong team, and it’s always great to see we’ve got a good bunch of lads in the side.

“After being involved in the pits with Max last year and seeing how successful Cradley were I’d love to be a part of that as a rider this year, so hopefully we can have a good year and retain our league title.”

Admission is £5 for the Copthorne event with all money raised going to the riders to assist with pre-season machinery expenditure.

The new Heathens race jacket will be on display – and the club have had one made for the evening which will be available for auction.

Tickets are available from the club shop on Quarry Bank High Street (Printworx) or from cradleyheathens.co.
