A SEMINAR to celebrate partnerships in local business was held by Oakleaf Commercial Services at their head office in Kidderminster recently.

The seminar was held for contractors who have been recently successful in tendering for works and services contracts. Seven Wyre Forest businesses have renewed long-term contracts with the company which is positive news for local employment.

It discussed ways in which efficiencies and value for money could be achieved by working together. This included sharing resources, effective planning and avoiding duplication of work.

Mark Dainter, executive business manager for Oakleaf, said: “It was really productive day and already, the partners have identified ways to achieve better forward planning to achieve efficiencies and ultimately, higher levels of customer satisfaction.

“We will be getting everyone together regularly to review progress and plan our future programmes.”

Finally, Oakleaf took the opportunity to raise awareness of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and how it can be present in supply chains without businesses being aware.

Ian Hancock, managing director of Oakleaf, added: “We are committed to the abolishment of modern slavery and we are asking all of our partners and contractors to give a commitment that they have examined their supply chains to ensure that it does not exist within their processes.”
