A comedy writer will be discussing his career in Dudley.

David Tristram, one of the most performed comedy playwrights in the UK, is set to talk about his career at Dudley Library on April 23.

The event, titled 'Confessions of a comedy writer', starts at 7pm and entry is free.

Mr Tristram's works are globally popular.

An interesting fact - at least one of his 31 published comedies is being performed somewhere in the world every single day.

He's known particularly for creating, writing and producing for Black Country comedy legend Doreen Tipton whose videos are virally popular on social media.

Speaking of the upcoming event, Stephanie Rhoden, Dudley partnership manager at GLL, said: "David is a hugely successful comedy writer.

"Although born and bred in Quarry Bank, his works have been and continue to be performed across the world.

"We’re really excited to have him performing his show at Dudley Library and encourage people to snap up tickets while they can."

Aside from stage plays, he is a seasoned ghost writer for autobiographies and children's books.

He has also written, directed and produced three independent films.

He's mentoring and writing material for young comedian Eva Abley, who has cerebral palsy and recently won hearts in the Britain's Got Talent finals.
