PEOPLE across the borough have just a few days left to have their say on plans for the future use of land across Dudley to boost housing and employment.

More than 130 people attended drop-in sessions about Dudley’s Local Plan and there have been more than 90 responses to the online survey since November, Dudley Council bosses have said.

The public consultation for the plan closes at 5pm on Friday December 22 and people are being reminded to have their say online at dudley.gov.uk/localplan

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said: “It’s important that local people are at the centre of the decisions we make and there’s still time for people to get involved.”

He said Dudley Council has committed to prioritising brownfield sites for development rather than green belt land and the authority has confirmed Dudley can meet the majority of its housing need in urban areas and on brownfield sites.

The plan pledges to allocate Corbett Meadow in Amblecote as a Local Greenspace to protect it for future generations.

Meanwhile, five brownfield sites including land in Brierley Hill and Dudley have been identified as priority for housing and are expected to deliver nearly 2,000 of the 11,954 homes needed by 2041.

Copies of the draft plan can be viewed at Dudley Council Plus building in Castle Street, the Council House in Priory Road, and borough libraries.
