PLANS to build a bungalow on empty land in Gornal Wood have been thrown out by planners.
The application for a bungalow next to Coppins on Prospect Road have been refused after planners said the home would be "cramped and contrived."
Plans showed a one-bedroom bungalow with two parking spaces and a garden.
One neighbour objected on the grounds the new home would block light to their patio.
A report by Dudley Council planners said: "By virtue of the limited confines of its plot, the proposed bungalow would appear as a contrived and cramped form of development that would be awkwardly sited within the street scene.
"As such the proposed development is contrary to guidance within the National Planning Policy."
The planning application, in the Gornal ward, was refused on December 12.
