A man pretending to be a police officer has tricked a woman into handing over her bank cards in the Black Country.
West Midlands Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in relation to the courier fraud that took place in Wednesbury on October 3.
They said the woman received a call from a man who stated he was a police officer and her bank cards had been cloned.
She was persuaded to hand over her card details and leave her bank cards outside her home for collection. A significant amount of money was then withdrawn from her accounts.
Sandwell Police said: “Anyone with information or who might have captured the man pictured on CCTV or a dash cam get in touch by calling 101 or via LiveChat on our website quoting 20/891720/23.
“Courier fraud occurs when criminals pretend to be police officers or bank representative over the phone.
“They’ll claim that there has been fraudulent activity on your account and request personal or financial information to verify your identity.”
