A TEMPORARY pedestrian crossing in Dudley is closing for works to the Metro scheme.

The crossing on King Street will be closed from today (Tuesday May 16) for approximately three days.

The closure is to allow Midland Metro Alliance to carrying out kerbing works and carriageway planing.

A spokesman for Dudley Council said it was notified of the closure today.

They said: "We apologise for the short notification period and disruption that this will cause for pedestrian access to this area of town.

"The alternative routes available to pedestrians will be via the footbridge or diversion over Flood Street junction only."
