A DRUG dealer who rammed three police cars before being caught with guns and class A drugs has been jailed for more than a decade.

Nathan Morris, of Madison Avenue, Brierley Hill, was arrested on August 26 last year after he was spotted by police dealing drugs from his car in Darlaston.

When officers approached the unemployed 28-year-old he reversed back at speed and crashed into three police cars and another stationary vehicle as he tried to get away.

Officers managed to stop the car and restrained Morris while a search of the vehicle revealed several wraps of suspected class A drugs and two mobile phones.

After his arrest, a search warrant was executed at his home address where officers found a large quantity of heroin and cocaine.

Outside a black Ford Mondeo, for which Morris had the key, contained further class A drugs and two firearms - a bolt action shotgun and a smooth bore revolver - along with shotgun shells.

He was charged with possession of two firearms and ammunition, possession of class A drugs and dangerous driving.

At the start of the hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 3, Morris changed his plea to guilty and was jailed for 10 years and three months.

Inspector Keeley Bevington said: "This lengthy sentence shows that gun and drug crime have no place in our communities and is the latest conviction in our fight to take firearms and drugs off our streets."
