CHILDREN will be able to enjoy a free ride on a big wheel in Dudley this weekend as part of the Small Business Saturday Market.

The 16-metre fairground attraction will be located near the fountain in the town’s new events square and will provide fantastic views of the town.

There will also be a free carousel to keep youngsters entertained while adults look for unique Christmas gifts being sold by existing market sellers and local small businesses, who will be manning one-off stalls to sell a variety of festive goodies and treats.

The Christmas market will run from 8am to 4pm as part of the national Small Business Saturday campaign, which aims to support and promote small businesses.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “With the event just around the corner I am excited to see the finished project.

“Dudley is a thriving market town with a strong tradition of market shopping so I hope to see lots of people coming along to join in the Christmas spirit and supporting our local businesses.

“There will also be a chance for children to ride the big wheel and explore the views of Dudley.”
