SEVERAL members from the Brierley Hill and Kingswinford branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution were honoured at their annual dinner.

Adele Fuller, RNLI community fundraising manager, presented awards to Ann Rogers, Katie Andrews, Ralph Hill and his grandson Ryan Hill at the White Swan, known as Ma Pardoe's, in Netherton.

Ann Rogers received the highly acclaimed RNLI outstanding achievement award - an honour rarely given to those who make an outstanding contribution to helping to save lives at sea.

Adele Fuller added: " Ann thoroughly deserves this honour as she works incredibly hard as chairman of Brierley Hill and Kingswinford RNLI fundraising branch.

"Annually the branch raise circa £30,000 for the RNLI, which is equivalent to providing training for 21 crew members for a year or 714 pairs of yellow wellies. A remarkable figure for a branch so far inland.

"Without people like Ann, we wouldn't be able to support our volunteer lifeboat crews, lifeguards and flood rescue teams."
